Dalai Lama on Chinese Terrorists’ Hit list?
Mumbai:( ZEE NEWS) The Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, is on the hit list of terrorists from the Tibetan region of China, a newspaper report claimed on Saturday. As per the intelligence inputs received by the Mumbai police, some terrorists from the Tibetan region of China may enter India to cause harm to the Dalai Lama.According to a leading Indian English daily, which got access to the intelligence inputs, a Chinese citizen of Tibetan origin is likely to slip into India not only to collect intelligence on the Tibetan administration but also to eliminate the Dalai Lama.
As per the input, the likely name of the Chinese national is Tashi Phuntsok. According to the report, five more Chinese nationals of Tibetan origin, probably affiliated with Chinese secret services, are also suspected to be involved."A good number of Chinese youth enter India on business visas, ostensibly for some clandestine activities. It's likely that they may try to visit certain areas prohibited for Chinese like Tibetan camps. The Dalai Lama visits Mumbai and other places in Maharashtra. The threat to him must not be underestimated.
Loss of Chinese passport and recovery of unknown Chinese passport need to be reported promptly, so that the concerned agencies can question them. In this regard, the activities of the followers of 'Shugden cult' - an anti-Dalai Lama group - need to be kept under strict vigil," the newspaper cited the intelligence report as saying. In the wake of the intelligence, the Mumbai police have given information to Tibetan organisations. They have also given directions to the special branch and the local police to keep personnel updated about the Dalai Lama's visit to Mumbai.
