Snowfall Starts in Darjeeling Hills

Darjeeling. Darjeeling hills welcomed the new year in style with the season's first snow fall in the district. Falut, Sandakphu and Manebhanjan and nearby areas witnessed snowfall today, district administration sources said. Though mainly trekkers visit these places, it was learnt that several tourists started for Falut after hearing the news of snowfall, the sources said. After signing of the Gorkha Territorial Administration agreement earlier this year tourists have thronged Darjeeling, considered "queen of the hills", this winter.
