Manmohan Singh to Begin campaign today in Uttarakhand
PTINew Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also hit the campaign trail for the Congress for the coming Assembly Polls. He is scheduled to address a rally in Rudrapur in Uttarakhand on Friday.He is expected to address a rally at the headquarters of the Udhamsingh Nagar district in the afternoon. The Prime Minister's rally comes three days after Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi addressed two rallies in Garhwal region.
Top state Congress leaders, including PCC chief Yashpal Arya, would be present at the rally, party sources said. Tight security arrangements have been made for the Prime Minister's visit. Both the ruling BJP and main opposition Congress have fielded their candidates on all the 70 seats in the hill state where nearly 64 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise on January 30. Earlier, Congress party had stated that Singh would address two rallies at Rishikesh in Garhwal region.
