Gurkha dies in Afghanistan bomb blast
KABUL: Among the six people who were killed in a suicide car bomb attack in the Afghan capital on Wednesday, one has been identified as a Gurkha guard. The deadly blast took place at Jalalabad road hours after U.S. President Barack Obama left Kabul on the anniversary of bin Laden' s death. The Taliban has owned the responsibility of the attack.
“Six people, a Gurkha guard and five passers-by, were killed in the attack,” said Kabul police chief Ayoub Salangi. However, name of the slain Nepali security guard is yet to be identified. Gurkhas have been part of the British army for 200 years.
