Mamata proposes more tourist spots in Darjeeling Hills
Kolkata : More tourists spots in the Darjeeling hills to cater to visitors today came up for discussion between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and GJM leader Harka Bahadur Chhetri. The Chief Minister discussed various development aspects about Darjeeling including opening of more tourist spots, Chhetri told reporters after the meeting.Chhetri said that he told the Chief Minister that three new tourist destinations at Dalgaon, Bijonbari and Rimbik have been identified. The GJM leader said that he had also raised the issue of central funds for the GTA. "While the GTA is supposed to get Rs 200 crore from the Centre, it has so far received only Rs 65 crore," he said. He also said that the Chief Minister would pay a three-day visit to Darjeeling from May 14 to address a public rally and attend a meeting of the GTA on development.
