केदारनाथ : उत्तराखंड में जून में भीषण प्राकृतिक आपदा की वजह से मची तबाही के बाद केदारनाथ मंदिर में पसरा सन्नाटा आज सुबह मंत्रोच्चार के साथ ही खत्म हो गया, जब केदार घाटी में 400 से अधिक लोगों को मौत की नींद सुलाने वाली बाढ़ की विभीषिका के 86 दिन बाद इस हिमालयी तीर्थ में प्रार्थना और पूजा हुई। पौ फटने के कुछ देर बाद घड़ी की सुइयों ने जैसे ही सात बजने का संकेत दिया, छठीं सदी के इस मंदिर के प्रधान पुजारी रावल भीम शंकर लिंग शिवाचार्य ने मंदिर के पट खोले और पूजा करने के लिए गर्भगह में प्रवेश किया। पूजा और प्रार्थना आज सर्वार्थ सिद्धि योग के अवसर पर शुरू की गई, जिसे अत्यंत शुभ माना जाता है। उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री विजय बहुगुणा अपने कुछ मंत्रिमंडलीय सहयोगियों के साथ आज की पूजा में शामिल होने वाले थे, लेकिन खराब मौसम की वजह से वह देहरादून से नहीं आ सके। 

केदार घाटी घने कोहरे की चादर से ढकी है। आज सुबह सवेरे हुई पूजा को कवर करने के लिए आने वाले मीडिया के विभिन्न दलों को यहां से करीब 22 किमी दूर गुप्तकाशी में रूकना पड़ा क्योंकि वह खराब मौसम की वजह से आगे नहीं बढ़ पाए। पूजा से पहले मंदिर का शुद्धिकरण और फिर प्रायश्चितकरण (मंदिर में लंबे समय तक पूजा न करने के लिए प्रायश्चित) किया गया। प्रधान पुजारी के साथ बड़ी संख्या में पुरोहित और बद्रीनाथ केदारनाथ समिति के अधिकारी मौजूद थे। सामूहिक मंत्रोच्चार और पवित्र शंख की ध्वनि से पूरा मंदिर गूंज उठा। बहरहाल, 13,500 फुट की उंचाई पर स्थित इस मंदिर में फिलहाल किसी भी श्रद्धालु को जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी जा रही है। 

इस प्रख्यात हिमालयी मंदिर की यात्रा बहाल करने की तारीख तय करने के लिए 30 सितंबर को एक बैठक बुलाई गई है। पूजा के लिए मंदिर की सफाई करने के बाद उसे बहुत ही अच्छी तरह सजाया गया। इससे पहले राज्य में आई भीषण बाढ़ का असर मंदिर पर भी पड़ा था और वहां 86 दिन तक खामोशी छाई रही थी। बाढ़ के कारण पहाड़ी जिले रूद्रप्रयाग, उत्तरकाशी, चमोली और पिथौरागढ़ बुरी तरह प्रभावित हुए तथा आधिकारिक आंकडों के मुताबिक 600 से अधिक लोगों की जान चली गई। इस आपदा में 4,000 से ज्यादा लोग लापता भी हो गए।

मुजफ्फरनगर : उत्तर प्रदेश में साम्प्रदायिक हिंसा की आग में सुलग रहे मुजफ्फरनगर जिले में रविवार को अलग-अलग वारदात में 15  और लोगों की मौत हो गयी। इसके साथ कल से अबतक इन वारदात में मरने वालों की संख्या बढ़कर 26  हो गयी है। पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, एसटीएफ, आशीष गुप्ता ने यहां संवाददाताओं को बताया कि मुजफ्फरनगर के कुछ इलाकों में आज भी दो समुदायों के बीच हिंसक झड़पें हुईं। इन वारदातों में जख्मी हुए तथा अस्पताल में भर्ती घायलों में से आज 15 और लोग मारे गये। अभी तक कुल 26 लोग मारे गये हैं, जबकि 40 अन्य घायल हुए हैं। हालांकि, मुजफ्फरनगर के जिलाधिकारी कौशल राज शर्मा ने एक समाचार चैनल से बातचीत में कल से अब तक कुल 26  लोगों के मरने की पुष्टि की है। पुलिस महानिरीक्षक ने बताया कि हालात को काबू में करने के लिये कई जगह उपद्रवियों पर गोलियां भी चलायी गयीं। हालांकि इस कार्रवाई में किसी की मौत नहीं हुई है।

हिंसक झड़पों के मामले में अभी तक 52 लोग गिरफ्तार किये गये हैं। दिन में दो बजे के बाद से स्थिति पूरी तरह नियंत्रण में है। जानमाल की क्षति पहुंचाने वालों के खिलाफ राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा कानून का भी इस्तेमाल होगा। गुप्ता ने कहा कि इलाके में सोशल साइट फेसबुक और टिवटर, एसएमएस तथा मोबाइल एप्लीकेशन वाटसऐप के जरिये अफवाहें फैलायी जा रही हैं, ताकि समुदायों में मनमुटाव और नफरत भड़काई जा सके। साथ ही एक वीडियो भी साझा किया जा रहा है, जिसे पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश की किसी घटना के तौर पर प्रचारित किया जा रहा है, जबकि सचाई यह है कि वह विदेश में किसी जगह फिल्माया गया दो-तीन साल पुराना वीडियो लगता है।

गुप्ता ने अपील की कि उस वीडियो को किसी भी दशा में पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश की किसी भी घटना से जोड़कर ना देखा जाए। इसका मकसद उत्तेजना पैदा करना है। उन्होंने बताया कि मुजफ्फरनगर के पांच थाना क्षेत्रों सिसौली, शाहपुर, फुगाना, कलापार और धराकलां में आज कुछ घटनाओं की सूचना मिली। सिविल लाइंस, कोतवाली और नयी मंडी में कर्फ्यू अब भी लगा है। गुप्ता ने बताया कि जिले में सुरक्षा के व्यापक प्रबन्ध किये गये हैं। प्रभावित हर थाना क्षेत्रों में दो-दो कम्पनी केन्द्रीय बल लगाये गये है। ऐसे सभी गांव चिह्नित करके पर्याप्त बल लगाया गया है जहां कोई एक समुदाय अल्पसंख्यक है। सभी जगहों पर बल को बता दिया गया है कि अगर उपद्रवी जानमाल को नुकसान पहुंचाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं तो वे नियमानुसार बल प्रयोग करें। सेना की तैनाती भी इसी मकसद से की गयी है।

उन्होंने बताया कि मुजफ्फरनगर तथा प्रभावित अन्य इलाकों में चार पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, 18 अपर पुलिस अधीक्षक, 23 उपाधीक्षक, 119 निरीक्षक तथा उपनिरीक्षक, 300 आरक्षी, अतिरिक्त अर्धसैनिक बल, 19 कम्पनी पीएसी, आठ कम्पनी आरएएफ, 19 कम्पनी सीआरपीएफ, चार कम्पनी आईटीबीपी तथा छह कम्पनी एसएसबी तैनात की गयी है। गृह विभाग के सचिव कमल सक्सेना ने बताया कि हिंसा की चिंगारी भड़काने वाली महापंचायत के आयोजन के लिये प्रशासन ने अनुमति नहीं दी थी। उन्होंने कहा कि देहात के इलाकों में हिंसा होने से स्थितियां थोड़ी मुश्किल हुईं, लेकिन अब उन पर काबू पा लिया गया है। गौरतलब है कि मुजफ्फरनगर में कल दो पक्षों के बीच हुई हिंसा में एक टीवी पत्रकार समेत 11 लोगों की मौत हो गयी थी, जबकि आज कुल 15 लोग मारे गये।

देहरादून : बीते शनिवार मुजफ्फरनगर में दो समुदायों के बीच भड़के दंगे का असर दून में भी पड़ा है। हरिद्वार और देहरादून की सीमाएं सील कर दी गईं।वहीं देहरादून के अति संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों में पुलिस पेट्रोलिंग कर रही है। जानकारी के अनुसार पटेलनगर थाना क्षेत्र में सबसे अधिक सक्रियता बढ़ाई गई है। मेहूंवाला, बड़ोवाला, तेलपुर, बुढ्ढी, तुनवाला, टर्नर रोड, सुभाषनगर, नई बस्ती, गांधी रोड आदि क्षेत्रों में पुलिस पेट्रोलिंग बढ़ा दी गई है।

वहीं शहर से लगे डोईवाला, जोगीवाला, मोथरोवाला सहित अन्य इलाकों में पुलिस गश्त कर रही है। साथ ही स्थानीय खूफिया एजेंसी को भी सक्रिय कर दिया गया है और संवेदनशील और अतिसंवेदनशील इलाकों में लगाया गया है। एसएसपी केवल खुराना ने बताया कि सभी थानाध्यक्षों, क्षेत्राधिकारियों को अपने-अपने इलाकों में गश्त करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। वहीं हरिद्वार पुलिस के साथ भी लगातार वार्ता की जा रही है।पुलिस की पूरी कोशिश अफवाहों को रोकने की  है। साथ ही किसी स्थान पर अधिक लोगों के एक साथ इक्ट्ठा होने पर नजर रखी जा रही है। अगर कोई व्यक्ति अफवाह उड़ाता पकड़ा गया, तो उसके खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

गुवाहाटी : लोकसभा में फर्जी दस्तावेज के आधार पर असम में रह रहे अवैध प्रवासियों का मुद्दा उठा और इस पर रोक लगाने के लिए सरकार से कदम उठाने की मांग की गई. शून्यकाल के दौरान इस विषय को उठाते हुए भाजपा की विजया चक्रवर्ती ने कहा कि गुवाहाटी उच्च न्यायालय के समक्ष हाल ही में फर्जी दस्तावेज के आधार पर असम में रह रहे 10 अवैध प्रवासियों का मामला सामने आया है. इससे पहले भी ऐसी खबरें लगातार मिलती रही हैं. 

उन्होंने कहा कि इन अवैध प्रवासियों के पास राशन कार्ड, मतदाता पहचान पत्र आदि मिले हैं. यह गंभीर मामला है.  अगर इस पर तत्काल रोक नहीं लगायी गयी तब क्षेत्र में आबादी के असंतुलन की स्थिति पैदा हो जायेगी. सरकार को तत्काल इस पर रोक लगाने की दिशा में पहल करनी चाहिए. कांग्रेस के सतपाल महाराज ने उत्तराखंड में संविदा के आधार पर काम करने वाले बीएसएनएल कर्मियों की स्थिति का विषय उठाया और इनका भत्ता और वेतन बढ़ाने की मांग की. माकपा के सैद उल हक ने शिक्षकों की परेशानियों के विषय को उठाया और सरकार से शिक्षक का सम्मान बहाल करने और उनकी सुविधाएं बढ़ाने के लिए पहल करने की मांग की.

देहरादून। उत्तराखंड में पिछले दिनों आए प्राकृतिक आपदा में हजारों लोगों की मौत हुई थी और काफी लोगों की मलबे में दबने की आशंका व्यक्ति की गई थी। पिछले कुछ दिनों से जारी केदारघाटी में मलबा सफाई अभियान के दौरान 64 शवें मिली है। वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी ने इन शवों को धार्मिक रीति रिवाज के साथ दाह संस्कार करने का आदेश दिया है। आईजी आरएस मीणा ने कहा कि जून महीने में श्रद्धालु यहां केदारनाथ के दर्शन केलिए आते हैं, लेकिन इस बार आए प्राकृतिक आपदा और बाढ़ के कारण ठंड लगने से कई श्रद्धालुओं की मौत हो गई थी। उन्होंने कहा कि ये जो शव मिले हैं उन्हीं श्रद्धालुओं का है।

पिछले दो दिनों में मलबा सफाई के दौरान 64 शव रामबाड़ा और केदारनाथ घाटी के बीच में मिले हैं। आईजी मीणा ने कहा कि मौसम साफ नहीं करने के कारण पहाड़ी इलाकों में मलबा सफाई अभियान को शुरू नहीं किया गया था उन्होंने कहा कि अगर मौसम साफ रहा है तो जंगलचट्टी , रामबाड़ा, गौड़ीगांव और भीमबाली इलाके में सफाई के साथ लाश को खोजने का अभियान शुरू किया जाएगा। गौरतलब है कि हिमालयन श्राइन ने 11 सितंबर से केदारनाथ में पूजा शुरू करने का फैसला किया है। इसी सिलसिले में डीजीपी सत्यप्रकाश बंसल ने कल इस क्षेत्र का दौरा किया था। 

गुवाहाटी: असम के धुबरी जिले में अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पर हाथीचर पोस्ट पर तैनात सीमा सुरक्षा बल (बीएसएफ) के एक कॉन्स्टेबल ने अपने दो अफसरों की गोली मारकर हत्या करने के बाद खुदकुशी कर ली है। बताया गया है कि कॉन्स्टेबल प्रभाकर मिश्रा ने सहायक उपनिरीक्षक (असिस्टेन्ट सब-इंस्पेक्टर या एएसआई) पद पर तैनात दो अधिकारियों बाबूलाल और सुरेंद्र की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी। इसके बाद उसने खुद पर भी गोली चलाई, और अस्पताल ले जाते समय उसकी मौत हो गई। यह भी जानकारी मिली है कि गोलीबारी में ओमप्रकाश नामक एक अन्य कॉन्स्टेबल घायल भी हुआ है। घटना की जांच की जा रही है, ताकि इसके पीछे के कारणों का पता लगाया जा सके।

नई दिल्ली : केंद्र ने गोरखालैंड की मांग पर चर्चा के लिए जल्द ही त्रिपक्षीय बैठक बुलाने का आज वायदा किया. बैठक में केंद्र, पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार और गोरखालैंड संयुक्त कार्यसमिति (जीजेएसी) के प्रतिनिधि शामिल होंगे. केंद्र के इस वायदे के बाद गोरखालैंड की मांग पर प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोगों ने दाजिर्लिंग में अनिश्चितकालीन हडताल खत्म करने का संकेत दिया है. गृह मंत्री सुशील कुमार शिन्दे ने दाजिर्लिंग से सांसद एवं भाजपा नेता जसवंत सिंह के नेतृत्व में आये गोरखा नेताओं के प्रतिनिधिमंडल से कहा कि पृथक राज्य की मांग पर चर्चा के लिए केंद्रीय गृह सचिव अनिल गोस्वामी जल्द ही पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्य सचिव और जीजेएसी के नेताओं की बैठक बुलाएंगे. शिन्दे ने संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘‘मैं मुख्यमंत्री (ममता बनर्जी) से भी इस मुद्दे पर बात करुंगा.’’  उन्होंने प्रदर्शनकारियों से अपील की कि वे दाजिर्लिंग और आसपास के इलाकों में अनिश्चितकालीन हडताल समाप्त कर दें क्योंकि इससे जनता को परेशानी हो रही है.

Washinton : Beleaguered Finnish company Nokia announced on Tuesday the sale of its mobile phone unit to Microsoft for 5.44 billion euros ($7.17 billion), bringing an end to its days as a phone maker. Nokia will grant the US software giant a 10-year non-exclusive licence to its patents and related stories will itself focus on network infrastructure and services, which it called "the best path forward for Nokia and its shareholders." The company also announced the immediate departure of chief executive Stephen Elop, who was hired from Microsoft in 2010 to turn the company around. 

He will be replaced in the interim by Risto Siilasmaa, Nokia's chairman of the board. Nokia dominated the mobile phone market for 14 years, until it was overtaken by Samsung in 2012 as the top-selling brand, as it struggled to establish winning business models and mobile devices. Rumours of a Nokia sale have swirled in recent months. Amid increasing competition from Apple and Samsung, Nokia dramatically changed its strategy in February 2011 when Elop warned the company was "standing on a burning platform" and needed to shift course immediately.

They're used to chasing baboons and elephants off their pitch at home in Kenya, but when a group of cricketing Maasai warriors came to Maidstone yesterday, all they had to contend with was some pigeons. Members of 70 Gurkha Field Squadron - based at Invicta Park Barracks, in Royal Engineers Road - played host to the Maasai Cricket Warriors. The match came after the Gurkhas had helped the Maasai warriors construct a cricket pitch back in Kenya, in Maasailand. After a 1-1 scoreline after two matches, they played a deciding match at the barracks, watched by other members of the regiment - with the Gurkhas emerging victorious. The warriors play in their flowing traditional robes, while the Gurkhas opted for more traditional cricket whites.The warriors are staying in the UK to compete in the Last Man Standing contest at Lords and the Oval after adopting the game as a way of promoting social change within their tribe.

A chemical leak of liquid ammonia from a cold storage unit in Shanghai has killed 15 people, according to China's official news agency. There were also 26 people injured in the leak at around 11:00 local time (03:00 GMT), Xinhua reports. Local media published pictures of firefighters at the scene. China's industrial safety regulations are sometimes ignored by local authorities focused on boosting economic development, observers say. Local media say that the incident occurred in the city's northern district of Baoshan at a refrigeration unit owned by a seafood company

Yulia Viktorovna Vins, or Julia Vins, as she is known in the online bodybuilding and powerlifting communities, is a 17-year old Russian powerlifter who recently shot to Internet fame after a series of photos showing her doll-like face and impressive physique went viral. Russia and countries of the former USSR have their share of doll-faced beauties – with Valeria Lukyanova, Anastasia Shpagina and Anzhelika Kenova being the most famous – but none of them have the impressive body of Yulia Vins. The young athlete from Engels, Russia, might have the face of a fragile porcelain doll, but her massive arm and leg muscles are enough to put most men to shame.

In a recent interview with a fellow bodybuilding enthusiast, Yulia said she started working out to become stronger and build self-confidence, but had no intention of becoming a professional powerlifter. During the first year, she trained her muscles without following a clear workout program, but eventually decided she needed guidance. She was training at the school gym and the only coach there specialized in powerlifting and weightlifting. Yulia opted for the former, because she wanted her body to develop harmoniously, and in just one year she made extraordinary progress. She is currently preparing for her first official powerlifting competition, in September.

Born to Dulal Chandra Barua, an engineer with the irrigation state department and her mother Meena Devi, who worked with the Assam Health Services.  She passed out her Class X from Holy Child School in Guwahati and graduated at Indraprastha College for Women in New Delhi.  

Then she went to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for her Masters, M.phil and Ph D. In 2008, when she got her new job posting as Assistant Commandant of Makum. Maybe it was an interesting sign of fortunate or unfortunate experience,  within two hours of her joining the office, she was assigned to move to Udalguri, upon urgent intervention to prevent the situation in the area where ethnic clashes between the Bodo and illegal migrants from Bangladeshi had broken out. There she realized how one could lose everything in just a fraction of a second, simply on account of being born to a different community. Later the same year, she got married to Puru Gupta, who is currently the Deputy Commissioner of Chirang district of Assam and they are blessed with a two-year-old son. NEW DELHI: Yasin Bhatkal, the founder of Indian Mujahideen, has been arrested by Indian agencies from the India-Nepal border on Thursday. According to sources, IB and other Indian agencies took Yasin Bhatkal in custody at Sanauli border of Nepal near Gorakhpur. Sources say special teams had been camping in Darbhanga in Bihar for some time for his arrest as RAW and IB played a crucial role in tracing his whereabouts. A special cell of Delhi Police was also near the Bihar-Nepal border since last one week anticipating the arrest. According to reports, the NSA has met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and briefed him about the arrest of Bhatkal. However, the home ministry is yet to make an official confirmation of the arrest. The NIA is likely to get the first custody of the top terrorist. Bhatkal is one of the most wanted terrorists and is responsible for several terror attacks in the country. Yasin Bhatkal's real name is Ahmad Zarar Siddi Bappa. He is also known by the alias Shahrukh. He is accused of masterminding several terror strikes including Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad blasts. Yasin Bhatkal's arrest comes close on the heels of arrest of another top terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda.

कोलकाता : देश के नेता समाज की सेवा के लिए हैं, लेकिन आए दिन उनकी दबंगई के किस्से सुनने में आ जाते हैं. ऐसा ही एक मामला पश्चिम बंगाल के दिनाजपुर जिले में इतहार के कॉलेज में सामने आया है. परीक्षा के दौरान तृणमूल कांग्रेस (टीएमसी) के एक नेता की पत्नी को नकल करते हुए पकड़ लिया गया तो पार्टी के कथित कार्यकर्ताओं ने कॉलेज की प्रिंसिपल और अन्य शिक्षकों के साथ मारपीट कर दी. मेघनाद साहा कॉलेज की प्रिंसिपल स्वप्न मुखर्जी ने कहा कि निरीक्षकों ने बीए फर्स्ट ईयर की परीक्षा के दौरान एक महिला को नकल करते हुए पकड़ लिया. मुखर्जी ने महिला की अंसरशीट और नकल की पर्ची जब्त कर ली और कमरे से चली गईं.

जिस महिला को नकल करते हुए पकड़ा गया, वो तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेता गौतम पाल की पत्नी हैं. सूत्रों ने बताया कि घटना के कुछ ही देर बाद बाहरी लोगों के एक समूह ने पहुंचकर महिला की कॉपी लौटाने के लिए दबाव बनाया. ये सभी तृणमूल के कार्यकर्ता थे. प्रिंसिपल का आरोप है कि जब उनकी मांग नहीं मानी गई तो उन्होंने मुखर्जी और दो अन्य शिक्षकों पर हमला कर दिया. इनमें एक महिला टीचर थी शामिल थी. मुखर्जी ने कहा कि लिखित शिकायत तैयार करके जल्दी दाखिल की जाएगी. घटना उस दिन घटी है जब मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने पार्टी की छात्र इकाई के सदस्यों से कानून अपने हाथ में नहीं लेने की नसीहत दी है.

NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank is said to have intervened in the domestic currency when the rupee hit 68.70 against the US dollar, agency reports say. Indian rupee slipped for third consecutive day in a row on Wednesday to hit its fresh record low of 68.70 against the US dollar, as uncertainty over a possible US-led military strike against Syria knocked down Asian equity markets and currencies. The currency has plunged a little over 13 per cent so far in the month of August alone to mark its worst monthly fall since the year 1993. The partially convertible has plunged over 19 per cent so far in the year 2013, and is set for worst loss since 1991. 

The rupee on Tuesday closed at a fresh all-time low of 66.24 against the US dollar, while gold hit an all-time high of Rs 33,700 per ten grams in the national capital on Tuesday. Passage of Food Security Bill is one big overhang on markets and rupee, as most analysts feel that it will have negative impact on fiscal deficit number. "Fall in rupee is more not a country specific issue. Clearly, emerging markets across have been reeling under the kind of currency pressure with the dollar strengthening. So that is going to definitely continue," said Arindam Ghosh, CEO, BlackRidge Capital Advisorsin an interview .

 "The bigger scare is that we are probably now heading into a global risk-off where there could be massive sell-off of riskier assets and that is going to be largely impacting emerging markets which are already reeling under the currency pressure," he added. Tracking weak sentiments, Indian markets opened on a weak note with benchmark indices plunging over 1 per cent each, led by profit booking in rate-sensitive, capital goods and oil & gas stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex was at 17,533.33, down 434.75 points or 2.5 per cent. It touched a high of 17,851.44 and a low of 17,448.71 in trade today.

New Delhi : One of India's most wanted terrorist, Syed Abdul Karim alias Tunda, accused of masterminding over 40 bombings in the country, has been arrested by Delhi Police from the Indo-Nepal border after he was apparently deported from one of the Gulf countries. 70-year-old Tunda, an expert bomb maker of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, would be produced before a court by Delhi Police later today (Saturday), official sources said. Describing Tunda as a major catch, the security agencies say he would be able to throw some light on Lashkar-e-Taiba's operations in India. The details about his arrest were sketchy but Tunda, against whom an Interpol Red Corner notice was issued in 1996, was apparently deported from one of the Gulf countries and his arrest was effected at the Indo-Nepal border. 

A resident of Pikhuwa in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, Tunda was one of the 20 terrorists whose extradition India had demanded from Pakistan after the 2001 attack on Parliament House. This list included Lashkar chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and his Jaish-e-Mohammad counterpart Maulana Azhar Masood Alvi. The CBI had charged Karim with organising LeT's major terror attacks outside of Jammu and Kashmir - a series of 43 bombings in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Rohtak and Jalandhar in which over 20 persons were killed and over 400 injured. He had also triggered explosions on inter-city trains on December 6, 1993 that claimed two lives. Besides being an expert in bomb making, Tunda had a major hand in spreading Laskhar-e-Taiba's network outside Jammu and Kashmir.

मुम्बई : स्वाधीनता दिवस से ठीक एक दिन पहले हुए भीषण हादसे में मुम्बई के कड़ी सुरक्षा वाले सैन्य क्षेत्र में बीती आधी रात को नौसेना की एक पनडुव्बी में भीषण विस्फोट के बाद आग लग गई। इसमें 18 नौसैनिक सवार थे। आईएनएस सिंधुरक्षक पनडुव्बी में हुआ यह विस्फोट इतना भयावह था कि मुम्बई में नौसेना की गोदी और उसके आसपास का इलाका दहल गया और समुद्र के पार का आकाश इस धमाके की चौंध से भर गया।

हादसे के तुरंत बाद 16 दमकलों को भेजा गया और तड़के करीब 3 बजे तक आग पर काबू पा लिया गया, लेकिन तब तक पनडुव्बी लगभग स्वाहा होकर डूब चुकी थी और उसका कुछ ही हिस्सा पानी की सतह पर दिख रहा था। नौसेना के गोताखोरों और अन्य राहत दल को मौके पर भेजकरपनडुव्बी में सवार 18 नौसैनिकों का पता लगाने के प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। सूत्रों के अनुसार पनडुव्बी के भीतर विस्फोट आधी रात के तुरंत बादहुआ और पूरी पनडुव्बी आग के गोले में तव्दील हो गई। सिंधुरक्षक के पास नौसेना की दूसरी पनडुव्बी आईएनएस सिंधुरत्ना भी तैनात थी, जिसे तुरंत सुरक्षित स्थान पर ले जाया गया। 

 नौसेना की पनडुव्बी में यह विस्फोट ऐसे समय हुआ है जब स्वाधीनता दिवस के मौके पर पूरी मुम्बई के समुद्रतटीय इलाके में हाई अलर्ट था। इस हादसे के बाद नौसेना के सभी प्रतिष्ठानों को सतर्क कर दिया गया है। हादसे की जांच के आदेश दे दिए गए हैं और विस्फोट के कारणों का पता लगाया जा रहा है। भारतीय नौसेना को यह भारी झटका दो बड़ी उल्लासपूर्ण घाटनाओं के बाद लगा है। पिछले शनिवार को नौसेना की परमाणु पनडुव्बी का परमाणु रिएक्‍टर चालू किया था और इसके बाद 12 अगस्त को स्वदेशी विमानवाहक पोत आईएनएस विक्रांत के जलावतरण से पूरी नौसेना में जश्न था।

नई दिल्ली : चीनी सेना अपनी हरकतों से बाज नहीं आ रही है और उसने एक बार फिर भारतीय सीमा में घुसपैठ की। चीनी सेना के करीब 100 जवानों 16 और 17 जुलाई को पूर्वी लद्दाख में घुसे थे। उन जवानों के हाथों में तख्तियां थीं जिन पर भारतीय सेना से कब्जे वाली जमीन खाली करने की बात लिखी थी। वहीं, भारत सरकार की ओर से कहा गया है कि भारत हर प्रकार के घुसपैठ से निपटने के लिए तैयार है। भारतीय सेना से आमने−सामने के बाद चीनी सेना के ये जवान वापस अपने क्षेत्र में लौट गए। प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय को चीन की इस घुसपैठ के बारे में जानकारी दे दी गई है। भारतीय सेना ने इस मसले को लेकर एरिया कमांडरों की एक बैठक बुलाई है। इस घटना से एशिया के इन दो शक्तियों में टकराव उत्पन्न हो सकने की संभावना है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि चीनी सैनिकों ने 16 जुलाई की शाम को चुमार इलाके में घुसपैठ शुरू की और वे 17 जुलाई की सुबह तक भारतीय क्षेत्र में रहे। 

सैन्य सूत्रों ने घुसपैठ की पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि भारतीय जवानों ने चुमार क्षेत्र में पीएलए के गश्ती दल को रोका था और दोनों पक्षों के बीच सामान्य बैनर अभ्यास के बाद पीएलए का गश्ती दल अपने क्षेत्र में वापस चला गया। सूत्रों ने कहा कि घुसपैठ करने वाले चीनी सैनिकों ने भारतीय जवानों से इलाके को खाली करने के लिए कहा और दावा किया कि वे चीनी सरजमीं पर खड़े हैं। चीन की थल सेना की घुसपैठ से कुछ समय पहले ही उसके दो हेलीकॉप्टरों ने चुमार क्षेत्र में 11 जुलाई को भारतीय हवाई क्षेत्र में सेंध लगाई थी। इसी क्षेत्र में पीएलए के जवानों ने 17 जून को घुसपैठ की थी और भारत का एक निगरानी कैमरा अपने साथ ले गए थे। घुसपैठ का ताजा मामला उस दिन का है जब भारत ने चीन की सीमा पर 50,000 जवानों वाले माउंटेन स्ट्राइक कोर की स्थापना को मंजूरी दी है। 

 इस तरह की घटनाओं की संख्या ऐसे में बढ़ गई है जब रक्षा मंत्री ए के एंटनी इस महीने की शुरुआत में चीन गए थे और दोनों देशों ने वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (एलएसी) पर शांति और अमन बढ़ाने के कदमों पर चर्चा की। लेह से 300 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित चुमार क्षेत्र हमेशा से चीनी जवानों के लिए असहज स्थिति वाला क्षेत्र रहा है क्योंकि चीन-भारत सीमा पर यही एकमात्र क्षेत्र है जहां से एलएसी तक उनके लिए पहुंच सुगम नहीं है। भारत और चीन एलएसी पर शांति और अमन कायम रखने के लिए एक सीमा करार करने की दिशा में काम कर रहे हैं जहां पिछले कुछ महीनों में घुसपैठ की अनेक घटनाएं देखी गई हैं।
