Darjeeling : As New Delhi today endorsed Telangana statehood, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) chief Bimal Gurung stepped down as GTA chief executive to press for a separate Gorkhaland. The GJM also announced indefinite strike in the hills. Gorkhaland Territorial Administration is an autonomous hill council formed a year ago. Gurung faxed his resignation letter to Governor M K Narayanan. "I have resigned from the GTA. I am severing ties with the state government," he told the mediapersons. 

The resignation letter, accessed by The Indian Express, mentions that he was quitting GTA because of "interference of the West Bengal government" in the autonomous body. "My resignation is on the demand for the formation of Gorkhaland state within the framework of the Indian Constitution and interference of West Bengal Government in the day-to-day functioning of GTA which has made it a total failure..," Contrary to expectations, Gurung said the Gorkhaland issue did not come up in the meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC) today. "It was not even discussed, which has made us more upset." 

The Morcha leaders confirmed that the GTA will be officially scrapped soon and all its executives would also quit. GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said: "We will follow in the footsteps of our president. All members of GTA would resign, it would be defunct." The MLAs would also resign from the Assembly. Tuesday was the second day of the three-day bandh by GJM in support of its demand. A GJM supporter tried to immolate himself in support of the demand for Gorkhaland earlier in the day. Mangal Singh Rajput, who is unemployed, attended a party meeting before he set himself on fire around 1.25 pm at Damber Chowk. He was rescued by police and admitted to hospital with around 40 to 50 per cent burn injuries.

KOLKATA: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has blamed the Congress-led UPA government for hatching a conspiracy against her government by encouraging a fresh statehood movement by Gorkhas in Darjeeling. She also said that the people would foil such instigation. "I do not understand why Union Government is behaving in a partisan manner by calling 3-4 persons of GTA to Delhi. The call has come from the highest office of a political party. When Darjeeling is peaceful and according to tripartite agreement (of which Union Government is a party) election was held and GTA was formed, and development process is underway, why Delhi is making efforts to kick start fresh agitation to serve vested political interest. 

It is a matter of shame," she wrote on Facebook . The chief minister's comments came close of the heels of the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) announcing that it would go for a 72-hour bandh in Darjeeling starting Monday. The renewed agitation followed the Centre's reported move that it might accept the demand for a separate Telangana state. "We believe that the Centre will accept the demand for Telangana state and we now demand that it will also have to accept our demand for a separate Gorkha state," GJM leader Roshan Giri told ET on Sunday. "Before last Lok Sabha elections , Telengana was announced by a political party. Why it is now being brought out as an issue just before Lok Sabha election? Telengana cannot be compared with Darjeeling . When everything is settled , why Delhi is insisting to disrupt peaceful situation and play with fire? It is reported that Delhi has directed the GTA persons to go in for a separatist movement," Mamata's Facebook posting said. "Darjeeling is a part and parcel of our state. We are united and we will remain united. Any conspiracy hatched by a political party and Union Government will be defeated by the people of Darjeeling and West Bengal. I'm proud of Darjeeling .

Lakhs of tourists are visiting Darjeeling and the tour operators and hotels are flourishing in business with a growth in economy. Darjeeling is smiling. "Let me repeat again that we love Darjeeling. We love West Bengal and we love our country. We will not allow anybody to divide and rule," she added. "The demand for a separate Gorkha state is older than the Telangana issue. If the Centre can consider Telangana's separate statehood, then why not the Union government will consider our demand for Gorkhaland ?" GJM legislator Harka Bahadur Chhetri said. The Darjeeling bandh will coincide with the counting of votes for the just-concluded panchayat elections. Even though the elections were not held in Darjeeling, the state administration is worried about the impact of strike.

A GJM leader told ET on condition of anonymity that agitation in the Hills will intensify and may take a serious turn as the Lok Sabha elections are due next year. "No political party would be able to win the Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat without our support and this time we will not support any political party if they don't give us specific assurance about accepting our demand for Gorkhaland ," the leader said.

Darjeeling : The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha yesterday called for a 72-hour shutdown in northern West Bengal's Darjeeling Hills from Monday, demanding a new state of Gorkhaland. "We have given a call for the shutdown to press home our demand for Gorkhaland," GJM general secretary Roshan Giri told IANS over the phone. "We have been told that the central government is going to concede the demand to carve out a Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh. When they are ready to form Telangana, why wouldn't they give us Gorkhaland?" Giri asked.The long-standing agitation for forming a separate state out of the northern West Bengal hills has led to loss of many lives over the past two decades, besides hitting hard the region's economic mainstays of tea, timber and tourism. 

On July 18, 2011, a tripartite agreement was signed between the GJM, and the state and central governments for setting up Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), an autonomous and elected hill council armed with more powers than its predecessor -- the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council formed in the late 1980s. The GJM now runs the GTA after sweeping its maiden elections last July. However, Giri said the GTA accord mentions that the GJM was signing the pact without dropping the Gorkhaland demand. "We never dropped the demand for Gorkhaland. And it is clearly spelt out in the GTA treaty," he said.

काठमांडो : भारतीय निवेशकों द्वारा नेपाल में किए गए 32.5 लाख डॉलर के निवेश से इस पड़ोसी देश के 30,000 युवाओं के लिये रोजगार के अवसर उपलब्ध हुये। एक शीर्ष भारतीय राजनयिक ने यह बात कही है। यहां भारतीय दूतावास के प्रभारी जयदीप मजूमदार ने कहा, ‘भारतीय निवेशकों ने नेपाल के आर्थिक विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। 501 भारतीय संयुक्त उद्यमों ने नेपाल में 32.5 लाख डॉलर (लगभग 3,239 करोड़ रुपए) का निवेश किया है, जिससे 30,000 नेपाली युवाओं के लिये रोजगार के अवसर उत्पन्न हुये हैं। साथ ही इससे नेपाल का निर्यात कारोबार भी बढ़ा है।’

भारतीय दूतावास द्वारा यहां नेपाल इंडिया चैंबर ऑफ कामर्स एंड इंडस्ट्रीज के सहयोग से आयोजित नेपाल-भारत व्यापार सम्मेलन को मुख्य वक्ता के रूप में संबोधित करते हुए मजूमदार ने यह बात कही। सम्मेलन में अन्य वक्ताओं ने नेपाल-भारत व्यापार और कारोबारी रिश्तों का और विस्तार तथा विविधीकरण करने की जरूरत पर जोर दिया। उनका कहना था कि इससे दोनों देशों के आम लोगों को फायदा होगा। इस मौके पर नेपाल के वाणिज्य सचिव जनार्दन नेपाल तथा सीआईआई के प्रतिनिधि अनुज अग्रवाल भी मौजूद थे।

आखिरकार एन मौके पर चौका लगाते हुए कांग्रेस ने आन्ध्र प्रदेश के पृथकीकरण के लिए अपनी और से हामी भर दी है। इसके साथ ही लम्बे समय से चला आ रहा तेलंगाना राज्य आन्दोलन की परिणिति सुखद प्रतीत हो रही है। लेकिन इन सबके बीच अब पश्चिम बंगाल से चल रहे पृथक गोरखालैंड आन्दोलन का क्या ? यह बेहद चिंताजनक विषयवस्तु बन गया है। आखिरकार देश के दो आन्दोलन जो एक ही समय सामान रूप से चलते रहे उनमे से एक पर सहमति और दुसरे पर मौन, ऐसा क्यूँ ? आखिरकार पहाड़ के नेतागण इस पूरे प्रसंग पर मौन क्यों है ? क्या इन्होने भी अलग राज्य के लिए सत्ता सुख प्राप्ति की रोटी नहीं सेंकी ? अब इतने सारे सवाल सामने है जिसका कोइ हल होता हुआ दिखाई दे रहा है। एक पुरानी कहावत है कि " घर का भेदी लंका ढहाये " उसी को चरितार्थ करते हुए अस्सी के दशक में सुभाष घिसिंग ने गोरखा जन मानस के भावनाओं को दरकिनार करते हुए  डीजीएचसी नाम की झुनझुनी जनता को थमा दी और लगभग दो दशकों तक शेर के मानिंद लोगो से दूर कही गुफा में खो और सो से गए। 

उसके बाद बिमल गुरुंग ने बढ़ते जन आक्रोश के बीच जमकर अपनी फसल काटी और साथ ही एक गुप्त समझौते के तहत पृथक राज्य को ठन्डे बसते पर डालते हुए जीटीए नाम की सत्ता कुंजी और ऐशोआराम की दुकान सजा ली। इन बड़े और जनप्रिय नेताओं ने ही आखिरकार गोरखालैंड के नाम पर गोरखाओं के वजूद से जमकर खिलवाड़ किया है और अब तो यह भी तस्वीर स्पष्ट हो गयी है कि गुप्त समझौते के चलते पृथक राज्य आन्दोलन नहीं होगा। मगर यह सब चलता रहा तो गोरखा जनता अपने मूल " गोरखालैंड" भावना के आक्रोश में इन सभी तथाकथित जनप्रिय नेताओं को अपने साथ बहा ले जायेगी। आखिरकार इतना होने के बावजूद बिमल गुरुंग एंड कंपनी चुप क्यूँ है? यदि अभी नहीं तो कभी नहीं। याद रखो कि गोरखा अस्तित्व की लड़ाई की परिणिती है गोरखालैंड राज्य आखिर जब तेलंगाना बन गया तो गोरखालैंड क्यों नहीं ? अब भी पहाड़ की जनता मौन रही तो हमेशा की तरह छलते रहना उनकी फितरत बनती चली जायेगी। करीब सौ सालो से चले आ रहे आन्दोलन के ऊपर आ बैठे जन नेताओं को जगाने का यही सही वक़्त है। इसके जुदा दूसरी ओर अलग तेलंगाना राज्य को कांग्रेस ने हरी झंडी दे दी है। शुक्रवार शाम कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने इस मुद्दे पर चर्चा की। इस बैठक में सोनिया गांधी और प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह भी मौजूद थे। 

बताया जा रहा है कि इसकी घोषणा अगले महीने की 5 तारीख से पहले कर दी जाएगी। अलग तेलंगाना राज्य बनाने की जो मांग सालों से हो रही ही थी अब वह हकीकत बनने जा रही है। कांग्रेस में इस पर सहमति बन गई है और इसकी घोषणा मॉनसून सत्र से पहले हो जाएगी यानी जल्द ही भारत में राज्यों की संख्या 28 से बढ़कर 29 होने जाएगी। आंध्र प्रदेश के कांग्रेस प्रभारी दिग्विजय सिंह ने कहा है कि निर्णायक फैसले का इंतजार कीजिए।  इसके साथ ही यह भी तय किया गया है कि हैदराबाद कुछ सालों तक दोनों राज्यों की राजधानी रहेगी। बाद में आंध्र प्रदेश की नई राजधानी बनाई जाएगी। तेलंगाना और बाकी आंध्र में 21−21 लोकसभा सीटें होंगी। दरअसल, कांग्रेस की रणनीति इन 42 सीटों पर कब्जे की है और इसके लिए बाकी के आंध्र में जगनमोहन को साथ लेने की कोशिश की जाएगी।

गौरतलब है कि अलग तेलंगाना को लेकर लंबे समय से सियासत और आंदोलन जारी रहा है। आइये एक नजर तेलंगाना से जुड़ी घटनाओं पर :

-2001 में सोनिया गांधी ने एनडीए सरकार को तेलंगाना के मुद्दे पर चिट्ठी लिखी। के चंद्रशेखर राव ने तेलंगाना राष्ट्र समिति बनाई।
-2006 में कांग्रेस−टीआरएस तेलंगाना के मुद्दे पर अलग हुए।
-जनवरी 2010 में श्रीकृष्ण कमेटी बनाई गई।
-दिसंबर 2010 में श्रीकृष्ण कमेटी ने रिपोर्ट सौंपी छह विकल्प सुझाए।
-दिसंबर 2012 में गृहमंत्री सुशील शिंदे ने फैसले के लिए एक महीने का वक्त मांगा।
-जनवरी 2013 में डेडलाइन खत्म हुई और तेलंगाना में हिंसा।
-मई 2013 में कांग्रेस छोड़कर कई नेता टीआरएस में शामिल हुए।
-जुलाई 2013 में अलग तेलंगाना के विरोध में कई विधायकों का इस्तीफा।

तेलंगाना में अलग राज्य की मांग को लेकर कई बार हिंसा हुई तो उस इलाके के राजनीतिज्ञ भी एकजुट हुए। अब जब तेलंगाना के अलग राज्य बनने का ऐलान होगा तो फिर इसका श्रेय लेने की होड़ मचती दिखेगी।

Dehradun : The Uttarakhand government has confirmed the report of a recent intrusion by 21 Chinese troops into the Indian territory at Barahoti in Chamoli district of the state. Principal secretary (home) Uttarakhand, Om Prakash said the Chinese troops did intrude in the Barahoti area. "The detailed report is being sent to the centre by the state government" Om Prakash told HT. He added that it is the prerogative of the central government to increase troop presence in the area.The Barahoti area is a pastoral tract of land and the Hoti River flows through it. 

Chief minister of Uttarakhand Vijay Bahuguna had pointed out at the meeting of the chief ministers on internal security held in New Delhi that the Chinese troops have intruded into Uttarakhand 37 times from 2007 till date. Uttarakhand shares a 350km long border with China.China first protested the presence of Indian troops at Barahoti, which they called as Wu je, in 1954. Later, a series of events and incursions laid the foundation of the first Sino Indian war. In 2011, a dozen Chinese soldiers came to Barahoti on horseback.

After the Indo-China war, the government of India had decided to train villagers from border villages as SSB Guerillas with the intention that they would serve as a line of defense at the time of aggression by China.

But the guerillas are themselves on a war-path with the government demanding permanent employment.

Former Army commander lieutenant general (retd) HB Kala said there is need of around two more divisions, one helicopter unit and one mechanised brigade unit in Uttarakhand for curbing the incursions by the Chinese troops."There is also need to seal the borders with Nepal as China would further befriend Nepal in the future and come near Gorakhpur and places as Barahoti", he pointed out.

NEW DELHI/HYDERABAD: The process of consultation over the Telangana issue is over and the time has come for a decision, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh said on Friday. "We shall let you know the decision taken," he said in New Delhi amid hectic activity of the party leadership to take a final decision on the issue of separate statehood to Telangana. Digvijaya Singh, in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, was talking to reporters after holding separate meetings with chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana. Digvijaya Singh's predecessor Ghulam Nabi Azad was also present at the meetings that assumed significance ahead of the Congress core group meeting on Friday evening. 

The two central leaders held detailed discussions with the three state leaders who rushed to the national capital on summons from the party central leadership. The core group meeting is likely to finalize the date for the meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC), expected to take a final decision. The three state leaders, earlier this month, submitted their reports to the Congress core group. The leadership is believed to have summoned them again to get certain issues clarified. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana, in their separate reports, are understood to have opposed any move to divide the state while Damodar Rajanarasimha, who is from Telangana, backed the statehood demand. Earlier in the day, Congress leaders from Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra regions) called on the chief minister and urged him to convey to the leadership their strong opposition to the state's division, party sources said. 

Seemandhra leaders, who made a beeline to the national capital in a last-ditch attempt to stall a possible decision to carve out Telangana state, held a meeting to chalk out their strategy. The meeting was attended by state and central ministers and Congress MPs from Seemandhra. S. Sailajanth, the state minister heading the group opposed to state's division, told reporters after the meeting that they were confident the state would remain united. He termed as speculations the talk of a likely decision to carve out Telangana state. "We have decided to exhaust all options to ensure the state remains united," he said. Hectic activity in Delhi has began amid the continuing resignations of Seemandhra leaders to mount pressure on the central government. Two Congress legislators on Friday submitted their resignations to the assembly speaker. As many as 16 legislators of the YSR Congress party and one of Congress on Thursday announced their resignations.

Tulsi Ghimire is a Nepali film director, screenwriter, film editor, cameraman, actor and lyricist. He is one of the most well-known and successful directors of the Nepali film industry. Tulsi Ghimire was born in Sindeybong, Kalimpong, Darjeeling district, India to Dhojman Ghimire and Narbada Ghimire. He has two younger brothers and a sister. Tulsi studied at the Mani Memorial Primary School in Sindeybong up to second grade, and then from grade 3 to 11 at the Scottish University Mission Institute (SUMI), Kalimpong. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalimpong College. 

He is married to Bharati Ghimire (Gazmer), who has sung in many of his films. His brother Shrawan Ghimire is a successful film producer. Tulsi's children, Bhawana Ghimire and Panchami Ghimire, have also appeared in a Nepali children's film Swarg Ko Pari. In addition to being a film director, Tulsi Ghimire has also been a successful screenwriter, editor, cameraman, actor and lyricist.Tusli Ghimire initially moved to Mumbai from Kalimpong in 1974 to work in the Indian film industry, Bollywood. Tulsi’s mentor and Bollywood editor Kamlakar Karkhanis advised him to make Nepali movies at that time. Tusli debuted in the Nepali film industry with the Nepali movie Bansuri in 1981 as a director. 

He made his second movie Kusume Rumal in 1985, based on his own story, which became very successful. Among his movies, Kusume Rumal, Lahure, Deuta, Chino, Balidaan, Dakshina and Darpan Chhaya are considered hits. Darpan Chaya is considered to be one of the top grossing and the biggest blockbusters of Nepali cinema. Tulsi Ghimire is currently busy in an animated movie, the first in the Nepali movie industry. The movie made on the story of Buddha is expected to be release in 2013 and will be dubbed in seven different languages. The movie was reported to cost over 80 million rupees.

Phatte Bahadur Singh (1902–1983) was a Nepalese poet and journalist who started the first daily newspaper in Nepal Bhasa. He suffered persecution and was jailed for his activities to develop his mother tongue. Singh was born in Kathmandu to father Kuldip and mother Dev Lani Singh. He was the grandson of poet Siddhidas Mahaju. Singh published his first poem entitled "Bānmalāhgu Chāl" (meaning "Bad move") in Buddha Dharma wa Nepal Bhasa in 1930.

  

Nepal's autocratic Rana regime disapproved of Nepal Bhasa, and writers and publishers were harassed and imprisoned. Singh was sentenced to life in prison for editing and publishing an anthology of poems by various poets entitled Nepali Bihar in 1939. He had the book printed in Bettiah, India and shipped to Nepal. After half of the print run had been sold, the rest of the copies were confiscated. Singh was in jail from 1941 to 1945, when he was released along with other writers Chittadhar Hridaya and Siddhicharan Shrestha. In 1951, the Ranas were overthrown and democracy was established in Nepal.This brought freedom to publish material in Nepal Bhasa.

On 28 September 1955, Singh launched Nepal Bhasa Patrika , the first daily newspaper in Nepal Bhasa, as editor and publisher.It was published from Kathmandu and was among the few dailies during the time. In 1962, Singh was elected president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists. He was president of Nepal Bhasa Parisad (Nepal Bhasa Council) from 1955 to 1960. Nepal Bhasa Patrika (meaning "Nepal Bhasa Periodical") championed language rights and also reflected the interests of Nepalese business. It ceased publication not long after Singh's death in 1983.

Thousands of well-wishers descended on Buckingham Palace on Monday night to celebrate the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby boy. Many tried to glimpse a formal bulletin announcing the 16:24 BST delivery of the baby, who weighed 8lb 6oz. The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery and Honourable Artillery Company will fire gun salutes in London later. Prince William said the couple "could not be happier". Kensington Palace said the baby would be named in due course. The duke stayed with Catherine and the new arrival - the third in line to the throne - overnight at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, west London. BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said it was unclear how long the baby would be kept in.

The world now awaits the couple's choice of names for their son, who will be known as the Prince of Cambridge. George is the bookmakers' favourite, followed by James and Alexander. Meanwhile, at 14:00 BST on Tuesday, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery will stage a 41-gun salute in Green Park, after riding past Buckingham Palace. At the same time, the Honourable Artillery Company - the City of London's army reserve regiment - will fire a 62-gun salute from Gun Wharf at the Tower of London. 'Doing well' After the new arrival was announced in a statement issued by Kensington Palace, a large cheer went up from well-wishers and journalists outside the hospital. A bulletin - signed by the Queen's gynaecologist Marcus Setchell, who led the medical team that delivered the baby - was taken by a royal aide from St Mary's to Buckingham Palace under police escort. It was then displayed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in line with tradition. The notice announced the delivery of the baby, adding: "Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well." 

The Kensington Palace press release said the Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth of his son. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news," it said. The Prince of Wales, in a separate statement, said he and the Duchess of Cornwall were "overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. "It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy," he added. "Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future." 

And Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones congratulated the couple "on behalf of the people of Wales" as "they enter their journey into parenthood".The Archbishop of Canterbury, meanwhile, said he was "delighted to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the arrival of their baby boy"."Along with millions here and around the world, I share in their joy at this special time," he added."May God bless this family with love, health and happiness in their shared life ahead."And US president Barack Obama was among foreign leaders to send their good wishes, saying of the duke and duchess: "We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings. The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations."

नई दिल्ली : चीनी सेना अपनी हरकतों से बाज नहीं आ रही है और उसने एक बार फिर भारतीय सीमा में घुसपैठ की। चीनी सेना के करीब 100 जवानों 16 और 17 जुलाई को पूर्वी लद्दाख में घुसे थे। उन जवानों के हाथों में तख्तियां थीं जिन पर भारतीय सेना से कब्जे वाली जमीन खाली करने की बात लिखी थी। वहीं, भारत सरकार की ओर से कहा गया है कि भारत हर प्रकार के घुसपैठ से निपटने के लिए तैयार है। भारतीय सेना से आमने−सामने के बाद चीनी सेना के ये जवान वापस अपने क्षेत्र में लौट गए। प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय को चीन की इस घुसपैठ के बारे में जानकारी दे दी गई है। भारतीय सेना ने इस मसले को लेकर एरिया कमांडरों की एक बैठक बुलाई है। इस घटना से एशिया के इन दो शक्तियों में टकराव उत्पन्न हो सकने की संभावना है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि चीनी सैनिकों ने 16 जुलाई की शाम को चुमार इलाके में घुसपैठ शुरू की और वे 17 जुलाई की सुबह तक भारतीय क्षेत्र में रहे। 

सैन्य सूत्रों ने घुसपैठ की पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि भारतीय जवानों ने चुमार क्षेत्र में पीएलए के गश्ती दल को रोका था और दोनों पक्षों के बीच सामान्य बैनर अभ्यास के बाद पीएलए का गश्ती दल अपने क्षेत्र में वापस चला गया। सूत्रों ने कहा कि घुसपैठ करने वाले चीनी सैनिकों ने भारतीय जवानों से इलाके को खाली करने के लिए कहा और दावा किया कि वे चीनी सरजमीं पर खड़े हैं। चीन की थल सेना की घुसपैठ से कुछ समय पहले ही उसके दो हेलीकॉप्टरों ने चुमार क्षेत्र में 11 जुलाई को भारतीय हवाई क्षेत्र में सेंध लगाई थी। इसी क्षेत्र में पीएलए के जवानों ने 17 जून को घुसपैठ की थी और भारत का एक निगरानी कैमरा अपने साथ ले गए थे। घुसपैठ का ताजा मामला उस दिन का है जब भारत ने चीन की सीमा पर 50,000 जवानों वाले माउंटेन स्ट्राइक कोर की स्थापना को मंजूरी दी है। 

 इस तरह की घटनाओं की संख्या ऐसे में बढ़ गई है जब रक्षा मंत्री ए के एंटनी इस महीने की शुरुआत में चीन गए थे और दोनों देशों ने वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (एलएसी) पर शांति और अमन बढ़ाने के कदमों पर चर्चा की। लेह से 300 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित चुमार क्षेत्र हमेशा से चीनी जवानों के लिए असहज स्थिति वाला क्षेत्र रहा है क्योंकि चीन-भारत सीमा पर यही एकमात्र क्षेत्र है जहां से एलएसी तक उनके लिए पहुंच सुगम नहीं है। भारत और चीन एलएसी पर शांति और अमन कायम रखने के लिए एक सीमा करार करने की दिशा में काम कर रहे हैं जहां पिछले कुछ महीनों में घुसपैठ की अनेक घटनाएं देखी गई हैं।

समाज, राजनीति अनि साहित्यमाझ एक-आपसमा नङ र मासुको सम्बन्ध छ। एउटा समाजलाई विकासको चरम बिन्दुमा पुर्याउन ‍ त्यस समाजको राजनीतिलेभाइटल रोल खेलेको हुन्छ भनेसमाज अनि राजनीति दुवैलाई सुमार्गमा दोह्रयाउन साहित्यिक एवंबुद्धिजीवि जमातको जिम्मेवारी अहम हुन्छ भन्नुमा कुनैदुइ मत नहोला। विश्वभरि छरिएका कुनैपनि जातिको सामाजिक विस्तारको इतिहास पहिल्याउँदा राजनीति अनि साहित्यलेनैत्यस जातिको विकासको निम्ति प्रत्यक्ष औ परोक्षरुपमा भूमिका निभाएको पाइन्छ। यति मात्र होइन कतिपय विद्वानहरुलेत राजनीति अनि साहित्यलाई समाज परिवर्तनको निम्ति प्रयोग गरिनेएउटा हतियार नैठानेका छन्।‌ असल राजनीति अनि दुर्दर्शी साहित्यिक सोचको कारण नैआज पश्चिमी देशहरुलेविश्वमा आफ्नो तीब्र विकासको चमत्कारहरुदेखाइरहेका छन्।‌ यसैलेसमाजिक, राजनैतिक साथैसाहित्यिक विकासमा पश्चिमी देशहरुलेहाम्रो तुलनामा सयगुणा बढी फडको मारिरहेको छ। पश्चिमी देशहरुमा समाज अनि राजनीतिलाई सही बाटोमा दोहोर्याउने ‍ काम बुद्धिजीवि एवंसाहित्यिक जमातलेगरिरहेका छन्।‌ बुद्धीजीवि, लेखक, एवंसाहित्यकारहरुको साहसिक आलोचनाको कारण नैपश्चिमी देशवासीहरुमा आफ्नो समाज, राजनीति अनि साहित्यप्रति सहजैचेतनाको भावना उत्पन्न भएको हो। किनकी झुटो राजनीति र साहित्यको निन्दा गर्नेउनीहरुलेएउटा असल संस्कार पालेका छन्।‌ यसैलेसमाज अनि राजनीतिलाई लगाम लगाउनेएउटा मात्र बस्तुहो साहित्य ।

साहित्य भन्नालेकेवल वाङ्मयलाई मात्र नलिएर समाज सचेत व्यक्तिहरुको एउटा झुण्डलाई नैमान्न पर्नेहुन्छ । कारण साहित्यलेसमाजको दर्पणको काम गर्छ भनेसाहित्यलाई दह्रो बनाउनेकाम समाजको बुद्धीजीविवर्गलेगरेको हुन्छ । यदि बुद्धीजीविहरुलेआफ्नो समाज अनि राजनीतिलाई छाडा छोडनेकाम गर्छन्‌ भनेत्यस जातिको विकासमा पूर्णविराम लाग्नसक्छ भन्दा कुनैअप्ठयारो नहोला। यहाँविश्वसाहित्य अनि राजनीतिको चर्चा गर्नअघि आफ्नैक्षेत्रमा देखा परिरहेका यस प्रकारका समस्याहरुमाथि प्रकाश पार्न अनिवार्य ठहर्दछ्। बुद्धीजीवि जमातलेछाडा छोडेको कारण अहिलेदार्जीलिङ पहाड चिन्तजनक अवस्थामा पुगेको छ। समाज अनि राजनीतिलाई दिशानिर्देश गर्न केयहॉंका बुद्धीजीवि जमात अनि साहित्यकारहरुले सही भूमिका निभाइरहेका छन्‌ त? हाल यो एउटा ताजा प्रश्न भएर खडा भएको छ पहाडको राजनैतिक परिवेशमा। विगत 6 वर्ष अघिदेखि हाम्रा समाजका सचेत बुद्धीजीविहरुलेयहॉंको समाजिक अनि राजनैतिक उतर-चडाउबारेके-कस्ता प्रकारलेमनथन गरिरहेका छन्‌? साधरण जनतामा राजनीति चलखेल अनि यसको दुरगामी प्रभावमाथि अनुमान लगाउनेक्षमता प्रायः त हुँदैनन्‌ पनि यसैलेयहॉंका जनतालाई राजनैतिक दलहरुलेकेवल व्यक्तिगत स्वार्थको निम्ति मात्र प्रयोग गरिरहेका छन्।‌ तर राजनैतिक दल अनि राजनेताहरुको क्रियाकलापमाथि बुद्धीजीविहरुको सही नजर पर्नुपर्नेहो। यदि जनतालाई अन्धकारमा राख्नेराजनीति हुँदैछ भने त्यसको सही आलोचना बुद्धीजीवि जमात एवंसाहित्यकारहरुबाट हुनुपर्नेहो। तर यहॉंसो भइरहेको छैन। आजभन्दा 26 वर्षअघि यहॉंको राजनीति अनि कुव्यवस्थाको आलोचनामा समाज सचेत व्यक्तिहरुलेसाहसिक कलम चलाएका थिए।

20 वर्षेआयुपुगिसकेका त्यसताकको तानासाही व्यवस्थालाई ध्वस्त पार्नको पछि अनुकूल समयमा नैबुद्धीजीविहरुलेआफ्नो साहसिक लेखहरुजनता समक्ष पुर्याएको ‍ ठोस्‌ उदाहरणहरूछन्।‌‌‌ यस्ता कुव्यवस्था विरूद्ध त्यसताकको लेख, आलोचना आदिलेनैजनचेतनाको काम गरेको थियो। फलस्वरुप दागोपाप जसस्तो शक्तिशाली तानाशाहि व्यवस्थालाई विफल पार्नमा सहयोग पुगेको थियो। तर समय अनि परिस्थितिको परिवर्तन साथ-साथैबिस्तारैहाम्रो समाजमा राजनैतिक आलोचनाहरुको खॉंचो देखापर्न थालेको छ। विगत 6 वर्ष यतादेखि स्वास्थ्य राजनैतिक आलोचनाहरुदेखि जनसाधरण बिमुख भइरहेका छन्‌ भन्दा कुनैआपत्ति नहोला। समाज अनि राजनीतिमा दिन प्रतिदिन उताड- चडाउहरुदेखा परिरहन्छ। तर यस्ता घटनाहरुको ठीकसित विश्लेषण गरी सही निचोड जनता समक्ष राख्ने विज्ञजनहरूको कमि हुँदैगइरहेको हामी अनुभव गर्नसक्छौं। विशेष गरी हाम्रो समाजमा राजनैतिक विश्लेषकहरूको कमी रहेको कारणलेगर्दा पनि राजनैतिक दलहरुलेआफ्नो मनमानी गरिरहेको हुनसक्नेअनुमान लगाउन सकिन्छ। किनभने, राजनीतिको दुरगामी प्रभावबारे जबसम्म विशलेषकहरुलेखुलेर लेख्दैनन्‌ तबसम्म दलहरुलेआँखा बन्द गरेर आफ्नो सत्ताको घोडा अघि बढाई नैरहन्छ। हुन त पहाडमा स्वास्थ्य आलोचना पचाउनेमाह्वोल छैन। कुनैपनि विषयमाथि विशलेषण गरेजाति विरोधीको संज्ञा दिएर समाज वहिष्कार गर्नेप्रथा रहेको पहाडमा राजनैतिक दल अनि नेतृत्वहरूको क्रियाकलापबारेआलोचना गर्नुभनेको एउटा चुनैतीपुर्ण कार्य नैहो। तर लेख्नेेमाह्वोल छैन भन्दैमा राजनैतिक अत्याचारको मुकदर्शक भएर बस्नुभनेको पनि एक प्रकारको अमानवीय कार्य नैहो। समयमा नैबुद्धीजीविहरुलेपहाडको समाजिक अनि राजनैतिक दुवैपक्षमाथि असल विश्लेषण नराखेयहॉंका जनतालेप्रत्येक पटकको राजनैतिक उताड-चडाउमा धोका खानेछन्।‌

एउटा असल समाज निर्माणको निम्ति राजनैतिक अनि गैर-राजनैतिक सङ्घ-संस्थाहरुको भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण मानिन्छ। यसैलेयी दुवैराजनैतिक दल अनि सङ्घ-संस्थाहरुलाई सही दिशामा लैजाने दायित्व समाज सचेत व्यक्ति एवंबुद्धीजीविहरुको हो। तर हाम्रो दार्जीलिङ्गेसमाजमा भने बुद्धीजीविहरुकेवल ब्राण्ड-को रुपमा मात्र विकसित भइरहेका छन्।‌ सॉंच्चैपहाडमा बुद्धीजीविहरुको आ-आफ्नो ब्राण्ड छन्‌ भन्दा कुनैफरक पर्दैन। आफ्नो ब्राण्डको आधारमा नै बुद्धीजीविहरुलेसमाजमा स्तर बनाइराखेका छन्।‌ यति मात्र होइन राजनैतिक दलहरुमा पनि बुद्धीजीविको मान्यता लिइ निक्कैठूलो-ठूलो पदभार लिएर उनीहरूबसेका छन। तर पद अनि मान्यता अनुसार यी बुद्धीजीविहरुको कार्यप्रणाली भनेठिक उल्टो रहेको छ। दलको कुकार्य अनि दलभित्रको अन्तरकलहहरुलुकाउन अनि सोझा जनतालाई आफ्नो दलको दास बनाउनमा मात्र उनीहरूलेआफ्नो विवेकको प्रयोग गरिरहेका छन्।‌ राजनैतिक दलहरुलाई सही निर्देशन गर्नको साटो बुद्धीजीविहरुलाई नैउल्टो दलहरुलेमोहरा बनाएर प्रयोग गरिरहेका छन्।‌ यसैलेबुद्धीजीविहरु केवल राजनैतिक दलहरुको मोहरा अनि ब्राण्ड मात्र भइरहेका छन्।‌ वास्तवमा आफूहरुले निभाउनुपर्नेभूमिकामा भनेउनीहरुशुन्यप्रायः रहेका छन्।‌ कतैबुद्धीजीविहरुलेनैराजनीतिक दलहरुलाई विपरित दिशा तिर त दोहोर्याइ ‍ रहेका त छैनन्‌? अहिलेआम मानिसमा पनि यस्ता प्रश्नहरूउठ्न‌ थालेका छन्।‌ हुन त समाजमा मान्यता पाएका वरिष्ट बुद्धीजीविहरुलेनैखुलेेआम राजनैतिक दलहरुको कुकर्महरुलाई डाक-छोप गर्नेकाम गरेपछि उनीहरुको चलखेलबारेआम जनतामा हल्ला फैलिनुसवभाविक हो। वर्तमान स्थितिमा हाम्रा बुद्धीजीविहरुलेसमाजमा आफ्नो छबी कायम गर्न सकिरहेका छैनन्।‌ राजनीतिमा देखा परेको कुसंस्कारहरुलाई दह्रिलो प्रकारले आलोचना गर्नको साटो समाजका दिग्गज लेखक अनि बुद्धीजीविहरुलेयस्ता विषयमा चासो राखेको देखिँदैन। यसैकारण अचेल पत्र-पत्रिकातिर पनि राजनैतिक लेखहरुको संख्या घट्दै ‌ गइरहेको छ। 

यसैलेहाल आम-मानिसमा राजनीति भनेको अन्धालेहाती छामेजस्तो मात्र भइरहेको छ। राजनैतिक दलहरुको राम्रो अनि नराम्रो पक्षबारेजनता अनभिज्ञ नैछन्।‌ जबसम्म समाजका हरेक सचेत व्यक्ति, बुद्धीजीवि, लेखक, साहित्यकार आदिलेआ-आफ्नो स्तरबाट समाजलाई कुमार्गतिर लैजानेराजनीतिको ठिकसँगलेव्याख्या गर्दैनन्‌ तबसम्म हाम्रो समाज अनि जाति स्वार्थप्रेरित नेताहरुको दास भई नैरहनेछन। हाम्रो समाज र राजनीति सँग-सँगै साहित्य पनि दिन-प्रतिदिन पछाडी पर्दैगइरहेको छ। सवार्थप्रेरित राजनीतिको कारण समाजमा देखोपरेको विकृति अनि विसंगतीहरुलाई साहित्यकार अनि सर्जकहरुलेअनदेखा गरिरहेका छन्।‌ साहित्यलाई राजनीतिमा मुछ्नु ‌ हुँदैन भन्नेकिसिमको मतलेपनि हाम्रो समाजमा कुराजनीतिलेफस्टाउनेमौका पाएको छ। किनकी विज्ञजनहरुबाट आफ्नो लेख, कृति आदिमा राजनीतिको नकारात्मक प्रभावबारेस्वास्थ्य आलोचना भइरहेको छैन। राजनीतिको स्वास्थय आलोचना पचाउनेक्षमता पहाडको दलहरुमा छैन भन्नेमत पनि हाम्रा बुद्धीजीवि, सर्जक, लेखक अनि साहित्यकारहरुमा स्थापित हुँदैगइरहेको छ भन्नेधारणा पनि धेरैमा पाइन्छ। किनकी, विगतमा सर्जक, लेखक अनि साहित्यकारहरुको छप्परमा राजनैतिक दलहरुलेढुंगा बर्साएको इतिहास साक्षी छ। तर दलहरुको तानाशाही तागतअघि आफ्नो सिप चल्दैन भन्नुपनि एउटा कायरपना नैहो। 

कलमको ताकत अघि विश्र्वको कुनैपनि शक्ति टिक्न सक्दैन यो ध्रुवसत्य हो। यसैलेअब पहाडको सामाजिक अनि राजनीतिक दुवैस्तरमा परिवर्तन ल्याउन कलम क्रान्तीको अवश्यक छ। हाम्रो समाज अनि राजनीतिमा देखापरेको विसंगती अनि विकृतिको पोष्टमोर्डम गर्न समस्त लेखक, सर्जक, बुद्धीजीवि अनि साहित्यकारहरुलेमुखर भएर आलोचना गर्नेअनि लेख्नेसमय आएको छ। राजनीति भन्नसाथैनाक खुमच्याउनेपहाडका जनतालाई राजनीतिको सही परिभाषा दिनेदायित्व समाजका बुद्धीजीवि, लेखक अनि सर्जकहरूको हो। किनकी, समाज अनि राजनीतिबाट बुद्धीजीवि, लेखक अनि साहित्यकारहरुअलग बस्न सक्दैनन्।‌ ‘सॉंचो साहित्यलेत सामाजिक जीवनको सबैपहलुयथार्थवादी रुपलेदर्शाउँछ अनि राजनीति मानव समाजको एक अभिन्न अंग हो, अतएव साहित्यलाई राजनीतिबाट कसरी अलग राख्न सकिन्छ?’- स्व. बद्रीनारायण प्रधानको यस भनाइलाई यहॉंप्रस्तुत गर्दैहाम्रा समाजका सम्पूणर्र् बुद्धीजीवि, लेखक, सर्जक, आदि समक्ष समाज अनि राजनीतिबारेअसल आलोचना गरेर साहित्य मार्फत मानव धर्म पालन गरौंभन्नेमत प्रकट गर्दछु।

DARJEELING : Darjeeling is now the 12th district in the country to have its District Magistrate office certified by International Standard Organisation (ISO). An official announcement in this regard will be made by the North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb in Darjeeling on Wednesday, said DM Saumitra Mohan. "Of the 650 districts in the country, the DM offices of 11 districts have been certified with ISO," said Mohan. Seven collectorate sections of the DM office here has already been certified with ISO and the processes are on to certify other sections too. It can be mentioned here that the headquarters of the ISO is based in Geneva, Switzerland and in India the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) is the arm of ISO. "The guidelines of the ISO is to deliver the services of international level," Mohan said.

एक अफवाह के बाद केदारनाथ से जान बचा कर वापस लौट रहे नेपाली मजदूरों की जान पर बन आई है। जंगलों और चोटियों से बच कर आए नेपाली जैसे ही सोनप्रयाग से आगे सीतापुर, रामपुर, बामसू और फाटा आ रहे हैं, तो हर जगह उनकी तलाशी ली जा रही है। गोद में छोटे-छोटे बच्चों को लिए चार दिन से भूखे प्यासे इन नेपाली मजदूरों को लाइन में खड़ा कर उनके कपड़े तक उतारे जा रहे हैं। ये वही नेपाली मजदूर हैं, जिनके सहारे गौरीकुंड से आगे केदारनाथ की यात्रा चलती थी। सोनप्रयाग से गुप्तकाशी के बीच यह वाकया हर जगह नजर आ रहा है। हालांकि इस इलाके की किसी भी पुलिस चौकी से इसकी पुष्टि नहीं हुई है। न ही पुलिस ने इस तरह के आदेश दिए हैं। कुछ स्थानीय लोग नेपालियों को देखते ही पुलिसिया अंदाज में यह सब कर रहे हैं। मजदूरों का कहना है कि हमारी महीने भर की कमाई छीनी जा रही है। 

फाटा में हेलिपैड पर तैनात सब इंस्पेक्टर ने नेपाली मजदूरों से लूटपाट की घटना को खारिज किया है। उन्होंने बताया कि पुलिस के पास केदारनाथ में स्टेट बैक की करीब सवा करोड़ रुपये रकम है, जो केदारनाथ से यहां लाई गई है। लूट की किसी भी घटना की फाटा में कोई रिपोट नहीं है। केदारनाथ में 6 हजार से ज्यादा मजदूर थे जो गौरीकुण्ड से लेकर केदारनाथ के 14 किमी के रास्ते पर तीर्थयात्रियों को डोली पालकी और ढंडी-कंडी में रखकर केदारनाथ के दर्शन कराते हैं। पैदल मार्ग में यात्रियों को पीठ-कंधे और घोड़े खच्चर पर ले जाने वाले इन मजदूरों में नेपाली मूल के सबसे ज्यादा मजदूर हैं। इसके अलावा कश्मीरी और लोकल मजदूर भी बड़ी तादाद में हैं। इनमें से भी कई सौ इस हादसे में जान गंवा चुके हैं। बचे हुए मजदूर जंगल के रास्ते सोनप्रयाग आने लगे। अब तक 2 से 3 हजार मजदूर इन रास्तों से लौट आए हैं। इस इलाके में लूटपाट और चोरी की अफवाह के चलते नेपाली मजदूरों की पिटाई का सिलसिला जारी है। केदारनाथ में पुल के पास एक छोटे से ढाबे से आजीविका चलाने वाले नन्द बहादुर कहते है कि तीन दिन जंगलों से बचते हुए जब सोनप्रयाग पहुंचे तो यहां राहत देने के बजाय गाली-गलौज और मारपीट ने और डरा दिया। इससे अच्छा केदारनाथ में दब जाते तो कम से कम जलील होने से तो बच जाते।

केदारनाथ से जान बचाकर अपने बच्चों के साथ लौट रहे नेपाली परिवारों को भी इसी तरह जलील किया जा रहा है। 4 महीने की बेटी गोद में उठाए और 3 साल के लड़के के साथ वापस आई तारा कहती है इतना दुख जंगल में 3 दिन तक भूखे प्यासे बच्चों को ले जाते हुए नहीं हुआ जितना सीतापुर से लेकर गुप्तकाशी में जगह-जगह तलाशी के नाम पर हो रहे व्यवहार से हुआ। गलत लोगो का कोई धर्म और मजहब नही होता है कोई देश नही होता है ऐसे लोग कही पर भी हो सकते है इसलिया हमे किसी एक कौम धर्म और देश के लोगो को बदनाम नही करना चाहिये। जरुरी नही की वहा पर लुटपाट का काम नेपाली मजदूरो ओर नेपाली मूल के लोगो ने किया हो वही के स्थानीय लोग भी यह कार्य कर सकते हैं केवल नेपाली लोगो के साथ ऐसा भेदभाव अच्छा नही है इसमे केन्द्र सरकार ओर राज्य सरकार दोनो को मिलकर ऐसे कार्य होने से रोकना चाहिए जिससे आने वाले वक़्त में गौरवशाली समाज के ऊपर कीचड़ ना उछाला जाएँ । 

नेपाली लोग ईमानदार, कर्मठ और मेहनती होते है, उनके उपर इस तरह का दोषारोपण करना सरासर गलत है। आज इन्ही की बदोलत दुर्गम रास्तो मे तीर्थ यात्रा संभव होती है। आज से 50 साल पहले भी तीर्थयात्री जब सामान इनकी पीठ पर लाद देते थे तो यात्रा के प्रति निश्चिंत हो जाते थे और गंतब्य पर सारा सामान सही सलामत पहुंच जाता था। हो सकता कुछ जंगलो मे रहने वाले लड़के या बॉर्डर पार के कुछ बदमासो ने इस तरह की घटनाओ को अंजाम दिया हो। ध्यान देने वाली बात तो यह है कि केवल शक्ल सूरत मिलने के कारण इनका नाम ले लिया गया हो। ये लोग भी अपनी जान बचा कर किसी तरह से वापस नीचे आये है, इनके साथ इस तरह का गलत व्यवहार उचित नही है। भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम से लेकर सन 62,65,71 और कारगिल युद्ध मे गोरखा /नेपालियो ने बलिदान दिया है लेकिन भारत सरकार ने नेपालियो के बलिदान को कभी भी सम्मान नही दिया है. भारत सीमा पर एसएसबी द्वारा नेपालियो को लुटा जाता है बुरा ब्यवहार किया जाता है पर भारत सरकार मौन रहती है. उत्तराखंड मे नेपालियो पर जुल्म एक जघन्य अपराध है इसकी जितनी भी भ्रत्सना की जाये कम है. भारत सरकार को ऐसे उदंड ब्यवहार करने वाले तत्व को तुरंत दंडित करना चाहिये। 

गौरीकुंड के पास नेपाल के रोल्पा निवासी बीर बहादुर(20) को भीड़ पीट पीटकर मार डालती लेकिन पुलिस ने हस्तक्षेप किया और उसे चौकी ले आयी। बीर बहादुर ने कहा, ‘मैं अपनी बहन और उसके पति के साथ जंगल चट्टी से नीचे आ रहा था। मेरे बैग में 15 हजार रपये थे। ये वह पैसा था जो मैंने कमाए थे।’ उसने कहा, ‘मैं नेपाल में रहता हूं. मेरी बहन, उसका पति और मैं यहां प्रत्येक वर्ष काम करने के लिए आते हैं। यह वह पैसा था जो मैंने लोगों को ढोकर कमाए थे।’ उसने कहा, ह्यजब हम वापस आ रहे थे तो भीड़ ने मुझे घेर लिया और वे मेरे बैग की तलाशी लेना चाहते थे। जैसे ही उन लोगों ने मेरे बैग में पैसे देखे वे मुझे चोर बताने लगे और मेरी बेरहमी से पिटायी करने लगे.’नेपाली नागरिक ‘कांडी’ के रूप में कार्य करते हैं. ये वे लोग होते हैं जो वृद्धों को अपनी पीठ पर बेंत से बनी टोकरी में गौरीकुंड से केदारनाथ पहुंचाते हैं.

उत्तराखंड में आये विकराल प्राकृतिक आपदा के बाद अब केदारनाथ के दर्शन कराने के लिए यात्रियों को पिट्ठू और डोली में ढोने वाले नेपालियों को प्रशासन और लोगों ने एकदम भुला दिया गया है, इसके उल्टे उन पर लूटपाट और दुष्कर्म के आरोप लगाए जा रहे हैं। उत्तराखंड की राजनितिक पार्टी गोरखा नेशनल फ्रंट के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष सूर्य विक्रम शाही ने ऐसे आरोपों को मनगढंत बताते हुए इसे नेपाली समाज के खिलाफ साजिश बताया। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री से इन घटनाओं की निष्पक्ष जांच कराने की मांग की है, ताकि नेपालियों को अपमानजनक स्थिति का सामना न करना पड़े। शाही ने एक स्थानीय दैनिक से हुए बातचीत में बताया कि नेपाल के करीब 700 लोग इस दैवीय आपदा में लापता हुए हैं। इनमें से तीन-चार सौ लोग लो केवल डोली उठाने वाले हैं, जिनके बारे में अभी तक कुछ भी पता नहीं लग पाया है और साथ ही प्रशासन भी इनका पता लगाने में अभी तक गंभीर दिखाई नहीं दी है ।

सबसे अधिक आपदाग्रस्त इलाको के खासतौर गौरीकुंड में होटल चलाने और डोली का काम करने वाला नेपाली नागरिक राजू इस समय हिमालयन अस्पताल जौलीग्रांट में भर्त्ती हैं। उसे खुद रेस्क्यू कर फाटा लाया गया था, जहां से उसे अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया। राजू ने बताया था कि उसके साथ के ही 16 लोग लापता हैं। इसके अलावा नेपाल सरकार के अधिकारी जो राहत शिविरों में कार्य कर रहे है उन्होंने भी अपने नागरिको के ऊपर लग रहे संगीन आरोपों पर कड़ी प्रतिक्रया देते हुए मुख्यमंत्री से विरोध भी जताया है। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री विजय बहुगुणा से लूटपाट और दुष्कर्म की घटनाओं की निष्पक्ष जांच की मांग उठाई है।

It was established in 1856 and since then has been awarded 1,356 times, including three service personnel who were awarded the VC twice.
